Tonight‘s concert is at 8 p.m. while Friday‘s will begin at a special 9 p.m. time to avoid ambient noise problems and allow patrons to enjoy other Sounds of Summer events. Born in Budapest, Hungary, Bogyo grew up in Montreal where she attended the Conservatoire. She continued studies in the U.S. with the great Janos Starker and with Bernard Greenhouse of the famed Beaux Arts Trio. She has appeared with many orchestras, including the Montreal S$.0., in numerous solo and chamber music recitals in Canada and the U.S., and at festival engagements and numerous CBC broadcasts. The wellâ€"known Kitchener soâ€" prano Margaret Elligsen Hull joins with Tom Elliott, principal bassoon of the Hamilton PhilhalIlonic Orâ€" chestra, and Sylva Hunter, Brantâ€" ford freeâ€"lance musician, to present the Chamber Music Society‘s conâ€" tribution to Sounds of Summer. The unusual program offers two rare works for paino, bassoon, and soprano: Leslie Mann‘s Canadaâ€" Council commissioned ‘"‘Weep You No More, Sad Fountains‘" (Seven Songs on Elizabethan Poems), and Emmanuel Chabrier‘s “L'lnvâ€ation au voyage." Additionally, Elliott undertakes the unusual feat of performing one of the Bach Suites for Unaccompaâ€" nied Cello on the bassoon.
