Metcalfe to make first _ Chamber solo performance PAGE 22 â€" WATERLOO CHRONICLE, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, Kâ€"W Chamber Music Society will host a concert by Margaret Metcalfe, viola, Friday, June 14 at 8 p.m. at the Music Room, 57 Young Metcalfe, a member of the KWSO who has performed with many orchestras over the years, will be accompanied by Sydney Bulmanâ€"Flemâ€" ing, piano, Anna Luhowy, violin and Nina Brickman horn. Metcalfe is a graduate of McGill University of Montreal, where she studied with Mildred Goodman and Otto Armin. In 1967 she was also a violinist with the National Youth Orchestra. Metcalfe, like many orchestral violists, began as a violinist, but has changed to viola exclusively beginning in 1980. She continues to receive coaching from Stephen Kondaks of McGill and Ralph Aldrich of University of Western Ontario. In addition to her extensive performing, Metcalfe is one of the area‘s most reputed teachers of violin and viola.
