Chronicle Special King Arthur and the knights and ladies that clustered at or near the Round Table will be in the spotlight at Wilfrid Laurier University March 3-9 as the universityholds its annual fes- tival. The theme this year will be a celebration of all things Arthurian and medieval. There will be a musical stage production of Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot, a medieval feast with authentic recipes. lectures by Geoffrey Ashe, a British authority on Arthur. a children's mm event, and an Arthurian Ctim festival. The film will be preceded. at l p.m., by jousts and medieval dance performed by the Society of Creative Anachronism with the movie set for 2 - The society draws its members from medieval enthusiasts in IGieherer-Waterioo,, Hamilton, Toronto and Guelph. That evening a medieval banquet will be staged with food of those early days in the spotlight. Dancers and musicians will set the mood and complete the authentic scene. The banquet starts at 7:30 p.m. and only a few tickets are available. The theme will be continued March 4 when students and others will operate a medieval fair in the concourse area outside the Bookstore, with medieval crafts, food and games. It will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. that day there will be a movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. There will be a commentary by Dr. MacLachlan, whose interest in Arthurian matters have taken him to England for extended studies. The event will be held in Room [El of the Arts building. An Arthurian Film Festival will be the highlight of March s, with showings beginning at 6 pm. in Room 181. On the bill are Monthy Python and the Holy Grail, Excalibur, Lancelot du lac and the Sword of Lancelot. A Gregorian mass will be conducted by Barrie Cabena of the Laurier music faculty at 12:30 noon. March 6. in the chapel of Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. That night, Professors Georffrey Ashe and Hugh MacLachlan will discuss various Arthur- ian matters. Professor Ashe will discuss The Search for Camelot. and Dr. MacLachlan will ask the question. What Happened to Arthur's Bones? They will speak in Room 208 of the Arts building at 7:30 pm. On March 8 and 9 there will be four performances of the shortened version of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot. at T p.m. and 9 p.m. both nights. They will be presented in the Paul Martin Centre.
