The Norah Barrett Bursary was established in 1978 in honor of the 20 years of service that Norah Barrett, the first Service Coordinator, gave at the Rotary Centre. Norah left to join the Anglican Convent of the Sisters of St. John the Divine in Willowdale. The presentation was made special by her presence. Three Roy Brown Bursaries were awarded to staff members to aid them in further education â€" Dianne Hamoen, Scott Powell and Ann Over 200 Rotarians, staff, volunâ€" teers, medical personnel, children and parents were on hand to see Sister Norah herself present the award. Dietrich has filled many positions in the past two years in the Early Childhood Education, grade school and lunch programs while Macklin has contributed over 2,000 hours in the past 14 years to work in the library, speech department and ofâ€" fices. She is retiring at the end of August. A special plaque, in honour of the late J. Alex Martin, was presented by his son John G. Martin, Rotarian and former President of the Rotary Children‘s Centre.
