Graduating students at Wilfrid Laurier University took time out Saturday from a busy schedule of activities to raise money for the school in a twoâ€"kilometre charity run. Money raised will be used to improve handicapped facilities at the university. Pat Arbuckle Chronicle Staff A tradition for graduating classes to give something back to their university took a novel twist Saturâ€" day. Members of the 1984 graduating class at Wilfrid Laurier University put aside their caps and gowns for a moment, donned sweat suits and jogging shoes and headed off on a fundâ€"raising run in Waterloo Park. Rose Pulis, viceâ€"president of the graduating class, explained that the twoâ€"kilometre run was an attempt to capitalize on the fitness craze and at the same time give WLU grads an opportunity to make a contribution to the university.
