Sylvia Brown Last Thursday, W.C.L narrowly missd the CWOSSA girls‘ gymnastics title to Waterloo Oxford 101.7 to 100.45. However, the Juniors dominated their division; Lyne Riseborough winning the Junior all around title and Marlo Amy and Val Smith placing 3rd and 6th respectively. In the Intermediate division, Wendy Kruuy placed sixth all around. Valerie Smith qualified for OFSAA in two events and Marlo Amy and Tanja Sparringa in one. Congratulations to the entire team for their excellent second place standing out of 28 schools. Open house on Tuesday, April 26 for all the parents and students. There will be free draws, shop displays, and also some acts from the talent show and much more. Waterloo collegiate representatives for the English Awards Contest have been chosen. For Junior Poetry, Rhonda Williams and Amy Wilson were selected and for Junior Prose, Rena Elfeki. The works of Helmut Hecker and Yuri Shimpo were chosen for the Senior division. For Senior Prose, Shailen Majithia and Roger Avedon were selected. The WCI representative for the Year Five Academic Achievement Award is Stephanie Moskal. The Talent Show this year was once again a great success. There were about 100 students and teachers involved in the twoâ€"day show which had 14 acts altogether. These acts were the school band, school choir, 7 different dance acts, the McKenzie Brothers, teachers ‘"Ballet," teachers "Old Time Band"; there was a solo done by Jessie Gauthier and also a rock band. It was a great show into which a lot of hard work went. Deanna Degen This week marks Bluevale‘s annual student couneil elections for our Knights of the Round Table (KRT). Campaigns are underway, as the candidates have decorated the school with posters and given speeches at this morning‘s Election Assembly. The voting will take place tomorrow in the front foyer during the three lunch periods. Results will be announced at the Election Dance tomorrow night, 8â€"11 p.m. Be sure to cast your vote, Bluevale, and attend the dance to offer your congratulations to the new KRT. Keith was named to the second team and both players will represent the Green Team at the Allâ€"Star basketball game Friday night at CHCI at 8 p.m. Tickets are $1 at the Tuck Shop or from any senior basketball player.
