At the Waterloo County Separate School Board Monday night, Cambridge trustee Chuck Yates in his capacity as chairâ€" man of the separate school board trustees association, reported his meeting with Preâ€" mier Bill Davis and Education Minister Bette Stephenson had gone favorably. *‘‘We got no direct answers, but the preâ€" mier was quite sympaâ€" thetic to our cause and somewhat embarâ€" rasséd by the situaâ€" tion," Yates said. While happy with this new progress, Yates said negotiations at this point are at a delicate phase and if the Catholics are to receive the $440 per student in Grades 9 and 10 they will have to proceed gingerly.
