The Year Of Living Dangerously blends romance in an exotic land with an historical revolution. Set in 1965 Indonesia, the story‘s principal focus may be on the relationship that develops between a neophyte broadcast journalist from â€" Australia and a British embassy employee who seemingly is a spy. But it is the catalytic character of a dwarf Chineseâ€"Australian cameraman who lifts the film well above the routine.
