Mezzo Christina Harvey along with pianâ€" ist Che Anne Loewen will grace the Kâ€"W Chamber Music Society‘s Music Room for a performance Friday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. Harvey first became known in this area from her year as Artist in Residence at WLU Faculty of Music in 1977â€"78. As a result of that posting, she became a member of the baroque specialty quartet, Quatre en Conâ€" cert, who were featured in a Chamber dinner concert in 1979. Then a soprano, Harvey had one of those exquisite silvery voices which she used with superlative control and expression. She sang in oratorios and operatic perforâ€" mances as well as with the Quatre group on the Continent, especially in the Netherâ€" lands. Last year discovering that she could really be singing lower down, she now qualifies as a mezzo or even contralto in which the repertoire for Friday‘s concert will be drawn.
