Fenyves‘ interest in the Ensembie has grown with its reputation and as a result, he has offered the orchestra the opportunity to share his expertise. It is in this way that he has made such a strong impact on the musical scene of this country. The 16â€"piece orchestra is comprised of the principal players of the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Symphony Orchestra led by maestro Raffi Armenian. Renowned violinist Lorand Fenyves will be Resident Guest Artist for the tour and Viennaâ€"trained Agnes Grossmann will be Guest Conductor. The Canadian Chamber Ensemble, a nationâ€" ally recognized recording and touring group, will tour eight major cities in Western Canada from October 18 to November 2. In 1957 Fenyves moved to Switzerland and became one of Europe‘s leading violin teachers and performâ€" In addition to his performances on the upcoming Western Canada tour, Fenyves will be Resident Guest Artist for the Kitchenerâ€"Waterâ€" loo Symphony Orchestra‘s "Studio Series‘" on November 27 when the Ensemble will perform the Baroque program featured on the tour. He will also perform on February 26 and May 28 at The Centre in the Square‘s Studio. Moshe Hammer, the newlyâ€"appointed concertmaster of the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, and first violin of the Canadian Chamber Ensemble will perform for the balance of the ‘‘Studio Series" â€" January 29, March 19 and April The Baroque program will include: Marcello *‘Concerto for Oboe and String Orchestra‘"; Corelli ‘"Concerto Grosso, Opus 6, No. 8"; Vivaldi "Concerto for two Trumpets and String Orchestra in C Major"; Handel "Concerto Grosso, Opus 6, No. 12"; Telemann "Concerto for Two Horns and String Orchestra in E Major®‘; and Bach "Brandenburg Concerto No. 2".
