Pillers, which is celeâ€" brating its 25th year in business, was recently awarded a $750,000 inâ€" terestâ€"free loan to cover 50 per cent of the FRED SHUH ELECT Because of this, Huber continued, the company will be breakâ€" ing into "a whole new sales area, new terriâ€" tories, new markets, a whole new line of prodâ€" acts that we haven‘t done before." In September anâ€" other Waterioo firm Centra Machine and Tool Ltd., of 103 Bauer Place, Waterloo was awarded a $60,000 noâ€" interest loan to cover oneâ€"half the cost of a computer numericallyâ€" controlled lathe. & Kitchener and Waâ€" terloo were designated in April to participate in ILAP. Under the program, local manâ€" ufacturing and proâ€" cessing firms can apply for grants of up to 75 per cent of eligible consulting costs assoâ€" ciated with the develâ€" opment of expansion programs and interestâ€" free loans of up to 50 per cent of eligible exâ€" pansion costs. The ILAP designation lasts one year. The company proâ€" duces Europeanâ€"style cooked meats and sauâ€" sages which it markets across Canada. According to Huber, the expansion will create 30 new jobs and generate $7 million in sales during the next three years. cost of a company exâ€" installation of upâ€"toâ€" date canning equipâ€" struction of a 15,000â€" squareâ€"foot addition to the company‘s plant at 443 Wismer Street, Waâ€" terioo, including extra LETT taken toll Wonders if _ WSWS prez questions comments Obviously the ingestion of that byâ€"product of fertilizer called fluoride has taken its toll on the intelligence of Richard Beyers. His ability in division entitles him to an A in third grade arithmetic but he rates Dâ€"minus in chemistry and journalism. Therefore Beyer‘s criticism of the Chronicle interviewer can be taken withâ€"the usual grain of sait. â€" I reject the accusation of "vague aliegations‘‘ and suggest that any interested individual examine the data himself. This is not a matter of just a few decimal points. There is a big difference between ‘"‘oneâ€"half caviâ€" When told this, Dr. Glenny admitâ€" ted to me verbally that he knew thereof, but refused to accept reâ€" sponsibility for the false advertiseâ€" ments. In subsequent correspondâ€" ence with Drs. Glenny and Beyers, I requested to see their (incorrect) calculations and offered to explain the data to them. Dr. Glenny referred me to Dr. Beyers, who, in turn, chose not to reply. On April 28, 1982, I phoned Dr. Beyers and extracted an admission that he knew the 52 per cent were false, although he refused to give me an assurance that his group would no longer use the incorrect figure. Finally, I sent him a letter, by registered mail, for confirmation. In the light of the events outlined below, I was quite surprised to read Dr. Beyers‘ public stand in the Chronicle, since he should know betâ€" During the 1981 campaign, proâ€" fluoride forces were widelyâ€"adverâ€" tising claims of 52 per cent less cavities among children in Waterioo compared with (unfluoridated) Kitâ€" chener (i.e twice as many in Kitchâ€" ener). Only after the vote was 1 able to examine the data obtained by Dr. Glenny. I could not verify their claim, and indeed found that the children had only 0.49 less cavities on average. "STRATEGIES FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT" PANELISTS: LUNCHEON SPEAKER; WALTER McLEAN, MP Tickets: $7.00 (includes session, coffee and lunch) WATERLOO FEDERAL PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE ASSOCIATION POLICY SEMINAR 9:15 a.m.â€"1:45 pm _ BLUE MOON HOTEL, PETERSBURG, ONTARIO Saturday October 30, 1982 HON. PERRIN BEATTY, MP CHRIS SPEYER, MP MR. JOHN ACHESON, Dominion Life MS.LISA AVEDON, Conestoga College MR. BILL THOMAS, B.F. Goodrich Waterioo, Ont. Phone 576â€"1634 Those are nice sounding words and those who built our country had such courage by toiling long hours from sun up to sun down. Eating sevenâ€"course meals was not a part of their routine. 1 am quite sure his pep talk on restraint did not register on the minds of the thousands of unemployed, those who have lost their homes, and the farmers. The premier would do well to practice what he is preaching. I don‘t suppose doggie bags would be allowed for any leftovers; it would downgrade such an affair. When the premier rose to speak he no doubt was applauded many times by the faithful. However, in my opinion, the subject of restraint did not fit into such a setting. I can also remember a short while ago the premier lacked restraint when he borrowed several million dollars to buy a jet. We also know that the provincial and federal politicians raised their salaries by more than five per cent. Winding up his pep talk on restraint he said "let‘s stop wringing our hands and saying how tough and difficult times are. Inâ€" stead let‘s say to ourselves our country was built by people with intestinal fortitude." Restraint talk falls on deaf ears This news item appeared in the Record of Oct. 7: ‘"Davis pushes restraint plan to the faithful PCs who paid $2000 each for a sevenâ€" course dinner." After reading this item of news I reached for my dictionary for the definition of the word restraint and I found it covers many things, that benefit mankind, but nowhere did it mention sevenâ€" course dinners. Not having sat down to a sumptious meal 1 would be interested in knowing what the meal consists of! How does the stomach react, and do the invited guests <*burp‘‘ each other after each My question: Who can justify exposâ€" ing the whole population to hyâ€" Grofluosilicic acid for a very quesâ€" tionable oneâ€"half cavity? _ " and "twice as many cavities‘".
