The film, The Search for Sandra Laing, docâ€" uments life under the apartheid system, where race determines where you will live, which school your chilâ€" dren will attend and what privileges you will enjoy. The film focuses on the country‘s school system, detailing how it prepared young whites for their future role as rulers over the black majority. Born in South Africa to white parents, Sanâ€" dra appeared to have ‘‘*colored" features. As a result she was forced to alter her lifestyle. She was expelied from her ‘‘white only‘*‘ school and later faced rejection by her famiâ€" ly. Sandra Laing was a victim of a society which believed in the separation of races. Film depicts racism problems A visit to the Kitchâ€" ener Market, a Waterâ€" loo county bus tour and a demonstration by the Leroux Distillers are on the agenda for the ladies. The major events inâ€" clude a Friday night Oktoberfest party and a Saturday night reâ€" union ball, which will take place at Kitchenâ€" er‘s Market Square. The local association club rooms in Waterloo will provide an inforâ€" mal meeting place throughout the weekâ€" end.
