Sponsored by Chiquita of Canada (the banana people). the program is divided into six Ontario regions with each region holding three levels 0 clinics leading ultimately to the selection of regional teams, who will compete this year at WLU at the end of June to determine provincial regional cham- pions. " ' As Dan Berry. Waterloo-Oxford Crusader coach and organizer of Saturday's clinic pointed out, the program offers much more though than just a possible selection to the regional team. "With the number of kids we have out, it's important they all get something out of the program." said Berry. “That's why we've divided the clinic into individual skill stations, checking things like speed, reac- tion, the entire clinic process. We're not just here to select a dozen kids, though that also represents part of the program." From the sizable number in attendance, four local players were selected to advance to the next round. They include Rob Froese. Andy Balogh and Jim Dimitroff of Cameron Heights. and Tom Schneider of St. Jerome's. Others will attempt to qualify in Brantford this week as they missed the clinic while competing in the Bible Hoop competition. The girls portion of the clinic was also held last weekend at Glenview Park. with Marnie MacDonald of St. Mary's being the only local player to qualify for further clinic at University of Guelph.
