He even brought along a couple of elves as llneaman. be this much fun The stands were filled with cheering parents, coaches barked out instructions across the ice, and Santa and his elves laid down the law as offi- cials for the afternoon. But the most hear- twarming aspect of Waterloo Disco pe- tites hosted London Saturday and came up with a 10-5 victory. Waterloo displayed a good passing and checking game. - scorinVtor Waterloo were Jennifer Hume Discos reign over London Sunday afternoon's Waterloo Minor Hock- ey Christmas Party at Moses Springer Arena was supplied by the principle characters - the major novice players on the ice - as they tried like the dick- ens with all-out efforts with five goals and an assist, Christine East (3-1), Staci Bemer (1- O), Jane Logan (1-0), Andrea Jalbert (0-2), and Jennifer Israel (0- 2). Tending goal were Monica Conners and Wendy Hearn. in their very first hock- ey game of the season. The idea of the party, which included lots of eats from MacDonald's restaurant of Waterloo as well as, three games featuring major novice teams, was to intro- duce the youngsters to the basics they have been practising in clin- ics to this point. Formal rules were waived for the occasion and that created for much excitement as legs, arms and entire bodies dashed, slipped and sprawled all over the ice as the zealous, tots swarmed to the puck. The event was high- lighted by the appear- ance of Santa Claus and his two elves who helped keep things in order as officials for the event, which organ- izers hope can develop into an annual.event since none other of this format is available at the novice level. Helping to ensure such an eventuality were the folks from MacDonaid's who gen- erously donated eats to help feed hungry mouths, plus the volun- teers who organized and supervised the party. A - A Special thanks go to volunteers Dennis Spain, Brent Bauer and Scott Schickler, whose presence put the "icing" on the cake.
