Ahothor Waterloo school, perennially-strong MacGregor, was edged out for top spot in the A division by Kitchener Stanley Park 100 to 98 over-all. in girls track competition, Angie Finder of MacGregor was a double winner, setting a new record in the 12 and under 800m of 2:35.4 and also winning the 400m. The only other Waterloo girl winner on the track was Val Simpson of Lincoln Heights who clocked a 10.5 in the 60m hurdles for girls under 12. The sole female field winner for Waterloo was MacGregor's Kim Way who won the girls 14 and over softball throw with a toss of 43.95 metres. Boys track athletes from Waterloo were promi- nent in the finals winning a total of eight events. Jamie Israel of Centennial took the 13-year-old 60m hurdles in 9.3, Winston Hall of MacGregor took the 200m in boys " and over in 25.3, MacGregor's Gordon Bean was a double winner in the 12 and under 400 and Mom, Ron Sprung of Lincoln took the 14 and over 800 and Brett Scott of Centennial took the boys open 1500m. Two team awards went to MacGregor for winning the 12 and under and 14 and over 4x100 relays. Steve Seibert of Centennial more than made his mark in field events, winning the 12 and under high jump in a new record height ot 1.58m and nearing the record in the triple jump with a distance of 10.41m. Two other Waterloo athletes also won field events, Terry Rath of MacGregor in the 12 and under long jump at 5m even, and Will Field of Lincoln Heights in the 12 and under shot put with a toss of I,30m.
