Fun and good times were the name of the game Saturday night at the Kitchener Aud when Kitchener major atom Bauer Krauts staged Minor ‘Hockey Family Night. Competition naturally took a backseat to enâ€" joyment during the game but a firne exhibition of hockey was witnessed by the hundreds of fans in atâ€" tendance as the exâ€"Cubs managed to hold on for a Story and photos by Rick Campbell Between games the finals of the atom skating contest were held, and as an added treat, a Showâ€" down Scoro for sixâ€"yearâ€"olds against Kraut goalies (without their sticks) brought several hilarious moments. nailbiting 5â€"4 victory Dave Wettlaufer and Ray Bauer each had two goals for the winners with Kevin Schnurr providing the other. Mike Martz with a pair, Rob Duench and Perry Mark scored for exâ€"Krauts. Paul Reinhart and Don Beaupre, presently playâ€" ing in the NHL and members of exâ€"Krauts and exâ€"Cubs respectively, were named honorary capâ€" tains for the occasion although unable to attend. Jt was truly a night to enjoy, and to reflect on the past, present and future. ‘ In a preliminary contest, the presentâ€"day Krauts skated to a 2â€"0 victory over the present Cubs, despiâ€" te being outshot 18â€"12.
