The Adult Recreation Centre (ARC) is having growing pains after its five years in operation and is seeking help from the public in raising the money needed to buy a $10,000 soundproof partiâ€" Adult centre seeks funds The staff at ARC are pleased with this growth and use of the centre, but are concerned for the future of senior proâ€" grams; Durst said. ‘‘Unless we are able to provide additional space at the centre, our proâ€" gram capacity in the fuâ€" ture will be severely resâ€" tricted,"" Durst said. Five netharking spaces are scheduled for completion soon to alleâ€" viate the ARC‘s parking problem and the next project involves the inâ€" stallation of a soundproâ€" of partition in the cenâ€" tre‘s ground floor room. Durst says Waterloo city council will pay $7,000 of the partition‘s estimated $10,000 price tag and the ARC will be responsible for raising the remaining $3,000. She said public donaâ€" tions for the partition will be "gratefully acâ€" cepted‘" but the centre‘s staff and the Grand River Kinsmen Club will be planning a variety of fund nisinfaevents to raise the balance of the funds. The Kinsmen have ofâ€" fered to coâ€"ordinate fund raising events that are suggested by the public. ‘‘*No special technical skills are required, only An exhibition of Phoâ€" tographs'gey David Reynâ€" olds will®be on display at the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Art Gallery from Jan. 8 to 29, 1981. This exhibition inâ€" cludes several serial photographs and disâ€" plays some of the most recent works by this Canadian artist. Reynolds has been a participant in Group Shows at the Burnaby Biennial, British Columâ€" bia 1977; the Gallery Chimera, Salem 1978 and Douglass College 1980 A graduate in Fine Arts from the Univerâ€" sity of Guelph, Reynolds is presently completing his master in Fine Art at Rutger‘s University, New York: a Wwillingness to assist in an effort to ensure that the centre can continue to grow in response to the needs of the senior adults in our com munity,"" Durst added.
