This past weekend the Minor Midget town- town Businessmens As- sociation' Downtowners travelled to Guelph to participate in their Tenth Annual Royal City Hockey Tournament, There were eight teams competing in the Minor Midget Division of the Tournament. In Group A were the Hamilton Hus- kies, Oakville. Buffalo Regals and Kitchener Kavaliers and in Group B were Amherst, New York, Etobicoke Wolves. Guelph and Wa- terloo Downtowners. The Downtowners met Amherst. New York in their first game of the round robin series, In the dying minutes, Amherst pulled their goalie for the extra at- tacker, but, the move backfired as Jamie Young scored from John McKerrow with 41 se- conds left in the game. This gave the Down- towners the 6-4 victory. Saturday afternoon the Downtowners met Etobicoke and Helmut Kliewer shut them out 4- The win put the Down- towners up against the Kitchener Kavaliers in the Semifinals on Sun- day. In their round robin series the Kavaliers tied their three games to take second place.
