J) It is hard not to notice the Voelker House at 36 Young Street with its smart white and green exterior. It was built in 1849 on a 310 acre parcel of land by Barnabus Deâ€" vitt. Elias Schneider bought the house in 1851 By 1940 when Philip and Vera Voelker bought it, it was little more than an old rundown farm house.
