But, alas, this is only a temporary resting place, as the Bateman print, along with more than 100 pieces of Canadian and international art, is desâ€" tined for the eighth annual Gala Art Auction to be held Friday at Kitchener;s Transylvania Club. Edissi hopes that the auction will net at least $5,000 for Mental Health/Waterloo Region, of which he is past president. Presented by Beaux Arts Internationale of Toronto, the auction will feature 140 original oil paintings, water colors, lithographs, sculptures and Eskimo carvings. Another 45 pieces will be set aside for a soâ€"called silent‘‘ auction, in which bids are submitted on a slip of paper. â€" o The bidding will be for such wellâ€"known artists as Ken Danby and William Kurelek as well as for STARTS FRIDAY nTtAiatement THE STUNT MAN 2 Shows Nightly 7:00 & 9:00 p.m. Matinee Sat. & Sun. 2pm STARTS FRIDAY L JESUS 2 Shows Nightly 7: & 9 p.m. Matinee Sat. & Sun. 2 p.m. HELD OVER ( arurnd THE ELEPHANT MAN 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9:10 p.m. Matinee Sat. & Sun. 2 p.m. HELD OVER t THE AWAKENING 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. Matinee Sat. & Sun. 2 p.m. 2 Shows Nightly 7:10 & 9:20 p.m. 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. Matinee Sun. 2 p.m. STARTS FRIDAY BOOGEY MAN 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. Matinee Sun. 2 p.m. HELD OVER mnriel PRIVATE BENJAMIN 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9:05 p.m. Matinee Sun. 2 p.m. STARTS FRIDAY 1T‘S MY TURN HELD OVER [® PRIVATE BENJAMIN 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. HELD OVER [ PRIVATE BENJAMIN sONG OF e THE SOUTH | nera 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. Matinee Sat. & Sun. 2 p.m. STARTS FRIDAY 2 Shows Nightly 7 & 9 p.m. ADULT pterraneint recommended as Gorren TA mmten‘t recommended os AbutT ANTERTAINMENT secommended os ADULT EMTERTAIMMAENT NOVEMBER 6 the international stars: Picasso, Miro, Dali and others. Also ‘‘resting‘‘ in the living room of Edissi‘s home at 11 Gay Cres., Kitchener, is a colorful and somewhat surreal painting by Kurelek, valued at about $12,000. Kurelek House is a group home on Joseph Street in Kitchener for the rehabilitation of exâ€"psychiaâ€" tric patients. It was named for the artist, Edissi says, because ‘‘he himself triumphed over severe mental illâ€" ness."
