Before then, the court case â€" presuming it proceeds as planned â€" could By Philip Jalsevac / The battle against fluoridation of city water is not over yet, in spite of council‘s rejection last week of a petition to put the matter to a vote in the upcoming municipal elections. One opposing group says it is planning legal action to challenge the Fluoridation Act in Supreme Court, while another, the Waterloo Safe Water Society, says it will press on with its peâ€" tition to eventually force a civic vote. R I The next edition of each telephone directory will be published within the year starting with the London directory to be distributed in November. Citizens can now ask local directory assistance operators for the toll free number of their elected representative. Provinceâ€"wide toll free access to your local member of the Provincial Legislature is now availaâ€" ble to all citizens of Ontario. ~ ~ _ This newâ€" development in Ontario‘s proâ€" gram to ensure that all citizens can contact key reâ€" sources in Government at no charge, became effecâ€" tive October 1, Ontario Minister without Portfolio Alan Pope said. _ â€" In June, the concept of toll free access for constiâ€" tuents to their members, no matter where they live in the riding, was approved. Of the 125 members, 58 reâ€" present consituencies where long distance calling is necessary in‘order to reach the constituency office. In éach instance the member‘s telecommunication needs were analysed and discussed and the most apâ€" propriate and cost effective method was agreed upon. Constituency offices will be listed in the Ontario government section of the blue pages in the next ediâ€" tion of all telephone directories under the heading ‘‘*Members of Provincial Parliament‘‘ and appear in alphabetical order according to constituency name. In some instances a particular constituency will be listâ€" ed in several directories. The member‘s name is not part of the listing. In this way, when a present member no longer reâ€" presents his or her constituency, the same office number can be assigned to the succeeding member thereby insuring accuracy and continuity in the blue pages listings. .
