Lynn and Laura Russâ€" wurm were known as the Pine River Sweethearts durâ€" ing the 50‘s and sang over Hamilton ‘and Wingham radio; they also played with the CKNX Barn Dance in Wingham. ‘ The two met through their common interest in music. Laura éntered a talent show at CKNX and someone reâ€" commended her as a guiâ€" tarist to Lynn. She not only played with the band, Pine River Troubadours, but the two fell in love and married. The Russwurm family of RR 1, Elmira is a musical family and its history in the business started 25 years ago with the parents. They went into a semiâ€"reâ€" tirement when the family started to arrive â€" seven children in all. Laura stayed home and Lynn played off and on for about 10 years. Eventually son Lance joined his parents in another band, called The Hummingâ€" birds. Laura played with her husband and son until one year ago when she decided to stay home more often with the other children. Three are still in public The Hummingbirds began 11 years ago and Lance joined in eight years ago. They perform country and western music, which Mr. Russwurm â€" believes is ‘‘*more popular than it has ever been." Mr. Russwurm found proâ€" moting the album himself was difficult and it is sold mainly where the band is playing. A few copies are also at the Elmira Music Centre, he says. District Trust Co. has commercial real estate holdings in the Waterloo reâ€" gion area. The trust company will occupy one floor of the building and District Deveâ€" lopment Corporation, a whollyâ€"owned subsidiary, will also be located in the building, to be renamed the District Trust Building. The moveis expected to take place in about two months. The Hummingbirds are busy most weekends, "three out of four,"" and a few week nights.
