Well, not quite. Having worked as a draftsman for the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, he ceased working there to deâ€" vote his time to establishing his own business in May of "I‘ve always had an inâ€" terest in drawing ... since wee small,"‘ he said. he said. JR Graphics and Design has since become ‘"a growâ€" ing concern‘‘. He has done several works for the area. Fritz Kasenâ€" brochken and Annie Ap pleschnitz, the Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival characters, were designed by Mr. Kropf. He also designed two characters, Reggieâ€"Lou, a popular regional mascot and Wally Watchout, adopted by the Waterloo Regional Poâ€" lice as a safety symbol. In addition to designing logos for the Waterioo Reâ€" gional Heritage Foundation and various commercial enâ€" terprises, Mr. Kropf has also produced various broâ€" chures for numerqus orâ€" ganizations. He works with subjects like flowers, fruits, people and still life. But his true first love is capturing the esâ€" sence and aura of old buildâ€" ings on paper. "I just really enjoy old arâ€" chitecture,‘"‘ he said, adding that, "when I hear of some old building being torn down, I just about shudder."‘ Mr. Krop{f has done se veral sketches of Wellesley residents‘ homes such as the Jacques house at the corner of Molesworth and Henry Streets and the Kaufman home on the comner of Wilâ€" liam and Henry Streets.
