i"lrstSmhns showed they can be at their best and worst all within a span of 60 minutes. |__________ l * ___*~ By Rick Campbeili Chronicle Sports Editor . Two very obvious facts came out of Owen Sound Kings 8â€"7 win over Waterloo Siskins Sunday night. And more important, it showed that the Kings are definiâ€" tely not just a flash in the pan as they make a run at the leaders in the Midwestern Ontario Junior B league. _ Siskins looked almost invincible for two periods as they ed into a 4â€"2 lead thanks to superb playmaking and clean â€"hitting that seemed to have Kings mesmerized. ut in the third after they zoomed into a 6â€"2 lead in the first two minutes, Siskins seemed content to play the rest of the game under a yellow caution flag. * Kings, who knew that a win over Waterloo was allâ€"imporâ€" tant at this juncture since Siskins have three games in hand in second place, simply refused to give up and popped home six goals to one for Waterloo in the final 16 minutes to esâ€" E:apgwnth what turned out to be a wellâ€"deserved victory. Most puzzling to the fans at Waterloo Arena was that in the offensive zone Siskins played tough, physical hockey for the entire 60 minutes. But once up four goals, they began walking around in their own end like pedestrians at a shopâ€" ping mall and Kings were more than happy to take advanâ€" tage of the politeness. _ _ Coaches at Sunday‘s Level II soccer coaching clinic at Seagram gym learned the proper method to conâ€" trol the ball with their heads during this dril!. They‘re just all playing so well for us it‘s kind of hard to make a choice."‘ To t As well as Barrett played, it was saves made by. Owen Sound goalie Chris Stockdale in the first period that in hindâ€" sight made all the difference in the world. _ _ A late cut of Elmira Sugar Kings (why?), Stockdale stoned Waterloo shooters on at least five occasions in the opening frame as the locals came out like gangbusters in every department. Their style, had they carried it out for 60 minutes in every capacity, would make them almost invincible in the Midâ€" western loop. The line of Dana Saunders, Brad Lund and Grant Musselman continues to dominate the league and Lund fired two goals, Saunders and Musselman one and Brad King, Mike Coppolino and newcomer Bob Hague, a late unversity cut, the others in a losing cause. _ â€"~> Siskins are now 10â€"4â€"1 tied with Kings (9â€"6â€"3) for second behind Stratford (12â€"2â€"2).
