Since then, the report has been found. But that is only part of the problem, according to Mayor Carroll. Waterloo mayor Marjorie Carroll is not pleased with the Region of Waterloo administraâ€" tion. And for good reasons. Almost a month ago, a report from the City of Waterloo on the infamous University Ave. extenâ€" sion was sent from the Waterloo municipal ofâ€" fices to the regional offices, five floors up in the Marsland CEntre. Somehow, the report got lost, and had it not been for Mayor Carroll‘s foresight the matter would have gone before regional council with no input from Waterloo at all. A report on traffic signals in Waterloo did find its way to the regional council table, but one enâ€" tire page was missing. Those incidents don‘t speak well for the efâ€" ficiency of Waterloo Region‘s administration. The incredible part of the problem is that reâ€" gional council supported Waterloo on the Univerâ€" sity Ave. extension debate, though council had never seen the written report. That indicates to Mayor Carroll that regional council is getting rather complacent. We agree. Why else would a body of elected officials vote on a matter without having seen any background inâ€" formation? Another disturbing incident took place when Waterloo staff sent an information report to the Region. An information report is one that is meant for information and general interest only. Mayor Carroll says that type of interaction enâ€" courages feedback and input from various muniâ€" cipal governments. Unfortunately, some of those information reâ€" ports have come back to Waterloo city hall havâ€" ing been approved by regional council. In some cases such reports have never come before Waâ€" terloo council for appr®val or discussion. The administrative inefficiency that seems to be rampant in the regional offices disturbs Mayor Carroll. and it should disturb all conâ€" cerned residents of Waterloo. Planned Parenthood should not be given public support or money since what they do goes against the wishes of most people in Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo. Yet our elected politicians. such as Mayor Carroll. support this group and give them money from the Region of Waterloo Dear Sir: I‘m writing in objection to your article in May 30 paper, titled Planned Parenthood Speaks Out. â€" o By recommending abortion to pregnant women, this group is going against the law of the land. According to the Bible, it is against the will of God to take the life of another person. Since an unborn baby is a person, it makes sense to say abortion is murder. We should force our government to stop supporting groups like Planned Parenthood and spend our tax dollars on more useful things. â€" s Since Planned Parenthood is breaking the law of the land. our Waterloo paper should think twice before publishing any more articles on the group Most people are against this group. so it is a sure way to lose fans and readers Editor‘s note By way of clarification, the article in question was run in Reader objects to Planned Parenthood a% | (‘;i\g Mrs. D.
