Waterloo walked away with a 6â€"0 win. Minor Hockey Scoreboard Saints cop top award In the Kitchener Blueline tournament they finished first in their division playing three games without allowâ€" ing a goal scored on them. They went to the OMHA semiâ€"finals and were put out by Hamilton in two overâ€" time games. In the Barrie tournament they took the consolation championship. The Saints had a most sucâ€" cessful year. They were the first team in Waterloo to go through their Hub League schedule and playoffs withâ€" out a loss. The Saints placed tirst in the Hub Tier I and went an to capture the championship. On Thursday Waterloo met Kitchener in the second game of the best of three series and won the game and the Hub League Tier I championship. Brad Kit opened the scoring from Jeff Clugston. The game seemed quite even as both teams skated and checked hard all night. Tim Allensen picked up a pass from Jason Sharrett and went in and ‘scored. Derek Giesel was in the nets for Waterloo and was credited with the 2â€"0 shutout. Derek Giesel and Sean Brenner who shared netâ€" minding duties and who had a most commendable year won the John Yosurack Meâ€" morial trophy which is preâ€" sented to the goalies with the best goals against average for the Waterloo atom and peewee leagues. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a fine year and a special thank vyou to the sponsor Hogg Fuel At the end of the first period, both teams were scoreless but at the start of the second period Waterloo started to explode. Steve Israel opened the scoring from David Cherry and Riâ€" chard Goode. On the second goal John East shot a high shot fram the point. Jeff Clugston put Waterloo ahead by three from Tim Alâ€" lensen and Brad Kit. Jason Poag picked up the puck from David Shenk and shot: it and the Kitchener goalie seemed to have lost sight of it as the puck dribbled in slowly between his legs. Chris Ribgy scored the fifth goal from Troy Schmidt and John East. Jeff Clugston never stopped digging all night as he connected for his second and final goal of the night from Tim Allensen and Brad Kit.
