For the first game in the best of three series the Warâ€" riors travelled to Stratford. In the first period Nick Cipp opened the scoring ith a goal from Kevin Douâ€" ’t&e for the Warriors. With 5:17 left in the first period Todd Francis scored from Kevin Doucette to give the Warriors a 2â€"0 lead in the game. Kevin Doucette set up the Warriors third goal scored by Bob Walls for his third assist in a row and a 3â€"0 lead for the Warriors. Both teams went + scoreless in the secone period, then in the third period Bob Walls scored his second goal of the game from Mike Innocente to give the Warriors a 4â€"0 lead. With 11 :11 left in the game Mike Innocente scored from evin Doucette, his fourth Esist in the game, to put the arriors out first 5â€"0. Mike Innocente‘s second goal of the game unassisted with 10:30 left in the game gave the Warriors a commanding 6â€"0 lead. Kevin Doucette completâ€" ed the scoring in the game with 1: 18 left on the clock with a goal from John McKâ€" errow. This gave the Warâ€" riors the 7â€"0 win and the first game in the series. The second game of the series was played in Waâ€" terloo and Stratford defeatâ€" ed the Warriors to tie the series at 1 game each. Stratford scored the lone goal in the first period with 1:47 left in the period when Ken Thornton beat Phil Leâ€" Lievre assisted by Peter Cornish. In the second period Shayne Ackerl scored from Roger Carlaw and Kevin Doucette to tie the game at 1â€"1. With 7:55 left in the seâ€" cond period Tom McMillan ored from Blair Hilliard give the Warriors a 2â€"1 lead in the game. Scott MacDonald was imâ€" pressive in goal for Waâ€" terloo. The opening game was in Waterloo and the Wolves were the victors by a 2â€"1 score. Preston jumped into the lead midway through the second period but the Wolves quickly tied â€"the game. Chris Read shot the puck into the Preston end where Dean Hopkins outhusâ€" tled the Preston defenders and fired a crisp pass to Steâ€" phen Thom who deflected the shot into the net. Late in the third period Preston was penalized and a determined effort was put forth by Waâ€" terloo.
