Bluevale Briefs About 125 persons attended the annual meeting of the Waâ€" terloo Horticultural Society held at the Adult Recreation Centre, Waterloo on Friday night. Mr. Marshall Soehner chaired the meeting and after receiving reports by the various committee chairmen it was reported that the Soâ€" ciety‘s membership now stands at 1190 and that 4500 annual flowers were planted in 17 different areas and $4500.00 was spent in Civic Beautification. The basketball teams were hard at it on Tuesday as well, The junior boys played their finest game of 1979 to easily defeat the Grand River Renegades 51â€" 37. They now hold fourth place in the junior league. Keeping up the good work, the senior boys dazzled their opponents and took W.C.L 58â€"49. The senior girls played an excellent game against W.C.I., although the Vikings were just enough better to win. However, our girls will be back, so look out Vikings‘! Friday saw the teams against the Cameron Heights Gaels with the senâ€" ior boys winning 62â€"41 and the rest of the teams losing. Saturday saw the boys play an exhibition series against Woodstock College Avenue Secondary School at B.C.1. with the midgets losing a close one 34â€"36 and the junâ€" iors winning 54â€"33 and the seniors winning 56â€"41. Intramural sports took a twist last week as inâ€" amural backgammon and euchre started. More on that as the tourneys progress. Present and future parents of students in the Lexington School area, will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 7: 30 p.m. at the sehool, to discuss the future placement of Lexâ€" ington students. > A committee representative of the whole community was selected from the parents present at a Lexington School meeting last fall. This dedicated group of 10 parents, with the assistance of our Area Superintendent Mr. D.C. Folliott, have faithfully attended three subsequent meetings providâ€" ing opportunities to brainstorm the concerns regarding the placement of students in the Lexington attendance area. Input from Mr. D.R. Foell, Superintendent of Construction and Planning with the Waterloo County Board of Education, and Mr. Folliott, provided a base for projecting the future growth in the area. To establish the number of preâ€"schoolers presently residing in our school community the committee members have surveyed their representative néeighâ€" bourhoods resulting in a five year factual forecast.
