St. Jerome's. however. got their revenge for the embarrassing de- feat, and scored a well- deserved 4-3 victory. Three goals by Paul Al- meida paced the Lions, and Louis Bows got all three of the wcr goals. Sean Kelly scored the fourth and decid- ing goal for the Lions. St. Jerome's controlled the play early in the game. and they led 2-0 after 20 min- utes of play, on two goals by Almeida. After these two goals, Waterloo started to play their game, and the Viking midfield began to move the ball effectively. In the 30th minute a goal by Louis Botos put WCI back into the game. Larry Gabel set up the goal with a fine pass to Botos. who flipped the bill over the lunging St. Jerome's goal keeper. This goal gave the Vikings new confidence. and only two minutes later Louis Botos scored his second goal, to tie the score 2-2. An excellent pass from midfielder Dan Between4and7, _ tum itoff. Waterloo North WCI's forwards missed several good chances, and as the clock ran down they started to rush their plays. and shot too soon. Just when it looked like WCI had 'a chance to score the equa- lizer. Paul Almeida raced through the entire wcr de- fence, and set up a goal by Sean Kelly to make the score 4-2 with only five min- utes to play. But the Vikings didn't give up, and with only two minutes to play Louis Botos scored his third goal, pulling WCI to within I. But indeeh to Larry Gabel put him within scoring range. he blasted a shot at the goal, but it slammed off of the crossbar: bouncing straight to Botos who booted it into the open side of the net. Five minutes into the se- cond half Paul Almeida made the score 3-2 for the Lions with his thirdgoal. It was a very exciting and close game, and both teams played very well. WCl's for- ward combination of Louis Botos and Nayrick Matth- ews played very well to- gether. and they were sup- ported well by Larry Gabel on the right wing.
