The 12th Annual Waterloo CHYM‘rs Fastball Tournaâ€" ment is 99% set for this coming weekend. The 1% lackâ€" ing/ is for Providence to provide good weather for what is -‘?‘-dlyéu of the classiest tournaments held durâ€" ing the Fastball season. A The lineup for this year‘s event reads like a Who‘s Who in Ontario Fastball circles, and the tournament is being billed as a prelude to the Ontario Championship Elimâ€" ination tournament to be held in Niagara Falls on the July 1st weekend. Returning in defence of their 1977 Tournament Chamâ€" pionship are the Grimsby Peach Kings, a young hustling ball club that gained many fans with their sportsmanlike attitude and composure in last year‘s event. Paced by the steady pitching of hurler Ed Unrah, a tireless perâ€" former who won the outstanding pitcher award in 1977, the Peach Kings are oddsâ€"on favoureds to repeat in the Guelph Ingrams, last year‘s finalists will also be reâ€" turning, featuring pitchers Jake Neu and Ron Robinâ€" son, two veterans of the Waterioo tourney, and strangâ€" ers to no area fastball fans. The Dynes undoubtedly miss Bob Domik, but they have attempted to retain their Championship status of the early seventies with the acquisition of Paul Wanâ€" namaker, a polished veteran from Ontario Fastball However, the list of competing teams should not be taken lightly in their quest to deâ€"throne the Peach Kings, and paced by some of the most outstanding pitchers not only in Ontario, but in all of Canada, it is quite possible that a new champion will be declared. _ Bob Domik, a household name in World Fastball cirâ€" cles following his selection as the World Championship Playoff‘s Most Valuable Player in 1972 when he led the Richmond Hill Dynes to the Global Championship, is suiting up this year for the Oshawa Chubbs.
