The Visual Keys, a group of six local artists, â€" cordially invites the residents of Kitchenerâ€" Waterloo to their second annual exhibition of paintâ€" ing and sculpture. This stateâ€" ment is the founding basis for the group‘s name. The library â€" exhibition provides an opportunity for the public to view each arâ€" tist‘s work and thus unlock each individual door to the message they hope â€" they have communicated. Visual Keys to hold art display at library Mary Karmn looks at life through roseâ€"colored glasses and her water colors and drawings depict the beauty and color of life. *‘*Maybe I‘m trying to escape reality, but it is very beautiful in my world and through my drawings and paintings, I‘m saying welâ€" come to my world, and if God has allowed me my special world then I am very fortunate indeed and for this 1 am truly thankâ€" ful,"" says Mrs. Karn. An abandoned Raggedy Ann doll, a teddy bear hangâ€" ing helplessly on a board fence and a rusty pail and discarded bottle caps are the subjects for Valerio Racca‘s still life water colâ€" ors. The Italian born artist has been in Canada for 10 years and has also tried his hand at sculpturing and oils. Sculptures in â€" marble, soapstone and Italian limeâ€" stone are the works of Umâ€" berto Fusari. His beautiful figures and faces are the work of his imagination. The artist and ceramics teacher lived in Italy until two and one half years ago. He started his career when he was 13 years old. Today he has opened his local stuâ€" dio to people who are inâ€" terested in learning his art. The refrigerator is one of the most important apâ€" pliances in the home. Refrigerator temperature should be kept at or below 4 degrees C (40 degrees F). This will retard or inhibit the growth of most of the bacâ€" teria present in the foods stored there. Most refrigerators have only a simple dial for adâ€" justing temperatures. In order to determine the exact temperature at which your _ref_l_'igerator is operqting Check the temperature in all areas of the refrigerâ€" ator. There is a common misconception that the coldâ€" est area is nearest the freezer section. This â€"is not necâ€" essarily true. The coldest area is most often the botâ€" tom of the refrigerator, because warmer air rises to the top. Keep dairy products, meats and leftovers in the coldest area. food specialists at the Ontario Food Council, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, recommend keeping a reâ€" frigerator/freezer thermometer i_l_\ your refrigerator. _ To maintain an even temperature and for best cirâ€" culation of cold air, do not overcrowd or stack foods. Refrigerator shelves should never be covered with foil or any material that will reduce air circulation. Invest in an accurate thermometer for the refrigerâ€" ator. It‘s a small price to pay to ensure properly reâ€" frigerated food You can earn a University degree even if you are over the age of 21 and do not have the normal entrance requirements. According to his colâ€" leagues his work is excepâ€" tional in that it shows feelâ€" ing and movement. The artâ€" ist of 23 years has shown his work in many local art exhibitions. Doreen Schuab has been doodling, painting and drawâ€" ing for as long as she can remember. Her water colors show scenes from her spring trip to the far east and two pastels are scenes from Venâ€" ice and Southern France. One large semiâ€"abrstract entitled â€" Butterflies, will also be on display. Julie Tuschâ€"Ofner is disâ€" playing a ‘"mixed bag." Her work includes scenery done in water colors, abstracts and collages. Art has been her main interest for the past 20 years and she has also dabbled in oils and acryâ€" lies. _ The artists firmly believe that everyone sees a work of art in a slightly different way. From Nov. 6 to Nov. %, Visual Keys is handing the community a key to the world of art and new imâ€" pressions. They hope that everyone has a chance to open the door.
