Both Waterloo teams were in the finals of the Ontario Cup with the Peewees emerging victorious (1â€"0 overâ€" Oakâ€" ville) and the seniors losing 3â€"0 to St. Andrew‘s. Although many people don‘t know it, girls have been playing soccer in Waâ€" terloo for the past five years. _ This year there ‘were four atom teams, four mosquito playing in the Waterloo House League system. . The Pintos (11â€"12 years old) were champions with a record of 16â€"1â€"1. The Bisons (13â€"14) were third in the six team peeweeâ€"bantam diviâ€" sion A#ith a 13â€"5â€"2 record. * The Seniors were also third. In the Waterloo Days This year, for the first time, rep teams from Waâ€" terloo played in a league (Haltonâ€"Peel). The Kitâ€" chener Juveniles did not show for the game, thereâ€" fore the Falcons won by default 9â€"0. In their second League game the Falcons played host to Brantford. Brantford â€" opened _ the scoring with 5:56 left in the first period with a goal by Scott Yardy from Rob Ponâ€" gralz and Art Bazoniaw. Rob Richardson scored from Kevin Hergott in the second period to tie the game at 1â€"1. With 2:28 left in the secâ€" ond period Danny Welch scored from Mike Humâ€" partzim to put Brantford out front once again 2â€"1. Early in the third period Jamie Riley was awarded a penalty shot for the Falâ€" cons. Jamie scored on the penalty shot to tie the game at 2â€"2. As was the case last year _all the Waterloo rep teams were in the Ontario Cup finals in Guelph. & The Pintos defeated St. Andrew‘s 2â€"0 on the strength of Lisa Wettlaufer‘s two goals. The Bisons unfortunately lost the game on penalty kicks. The Waterloo juniors were defeated 3â€"0 by Oakâ€" ville. tournament held in June, the Pintos defeated St. Anâ€" drew‘s 3â€"1 in the championâ€" ship while the Bisons were defeated 1â€"0 by St. Andrew‘s. In the Scarborough Robbie Tournament on Labour Day weekend the Pintos were defeated 1â€"0 by Annandale in the championship while the Bisons were eliminated in the semiâ€"final. On Sunday the Pintos played their last game of the Haltonâ€"Peel season and made it a winning one by defeating Oakville 2â€"1 on goals by Kerri Boehmer and Sandra Tilley. With 4:42 left in the game Gerry Blake scored from Steve Graf to put the Falâ€" cons out front 3â€"2 for the first time in the game. â€" Gerry Blake scored his second goal of the game from John Nay with 15 secâ€" onds left in the game to give the Falcons a 4â€"2 win. In net for the Waterloo Major â€" Juvenile Falcons was John Conrad. Earlier in an exhibition game the Falcons defeated Kitchener 4â€"3. The Falcons jumpéd out to a 2â€"0 lead with 2 goals in the first period. Steve Graf scored the Falcons first goal unassisted and Terry Calder scored their second goal from Steve Graf and Rob Richardson. In the second period Mike Farrell scored for Kitchâ€" ener unassisted for a 2â€"1 game. Terry Calder scored his second goal of the game for the Falcons from Kevin Hergott and Rob Richardâ€" son in the second period to put them ahead by 2 goals once again. Steve Kaye scored from Dï¬l McNeil and John O‘Bonoghue for Kitchener to close the gap to 4â€"2. In the third period the Falcons took a 4â€"1 lead with a goal by Graham Dennis from Jamie Riley. With 4:43 left in the game John O ‘Donoghue â€" scored from Craig Frank to comâ€" plete the scoring at 4â€"3 in favour of the Falcons.
