The movable bulkâ€"head converts the pool into two 25 metre facilities for short course training and its removal provides the club with one of the few 50 metre (long course) training facilities in Western Ontario. In addition, dry land exercising equipment is available for use by the more advanced swimmer. Maintenance of the pool by the University is excellent. Head coach, Paul Meronen and his staff were pleased at the progress made during the initial year. The club ranked in the top 25 nationally. There were five provincial and/or national records established. Essential to continuâ€" ing success is the constant developing of up and coming swimmers. The Introâ€" ductory group this year will be split, as much as possible, on the basis of skill and stage of development. This will reduce the wide cross section of swimmer skill, that the coach had to deal with at each session. Thereby providâ€" ing a program more tailored to the Introductory groups needs. There will be continued emphasis on program flexâ€" ibility to meet the needs of individuals. Include again this year are parties, picnics and a banâ€" quet away from the pool environment.
