Waterloo‘s senior citizens won‘t be frittering away the summer this year if the Adult Recreation Centre has any say in the matter. Beginning the first week of June, seniors will be cycling, and playing croquet, horseshoes and lawn darts as part of a new fitness program operating out of the centre. Funded by a New Horizons grant of $6,440, Mike Dryson, a UW recreation student, will be leading the seniors in lots of interestâ€" ing activities. Mike, whose salary is beâ€" ing paid through an Experience ‘77 grant, will also set up yoga classes, swimming, sessions and fitness classes to begin in the fall. The program is designed to be an ongoing project to help seniors stay and get fit. More information on the proâ€" gram will be coming up in a few weeks. A committee composed of Ald. Don Meston, planning director Paul Dietrich and a member of the city‘s architectural advisory committee was set up the other week to determine the criteria for a new property improvement award. The award, which was the brainstorm of Ald.
