Mrs. Scaub works in a variety of media including oils. water colors. acrylics. sculpture. ceramics and print-making. However, her first love is oils. Her 24 works displayed at the library include oils. water colors, "one pastel and some acrylics. For every good one, there might be three or four you messed up“. it's difficult to get enough paintings ready. Although the library ex- hibition is Mrs. Schaubs first one woman Show. her works have appeared, in group exhibitions, juried shows and at local galleries. She is a member of the K-W Society for the Arts, the K-W Art Gallery, and the Stratford Art Gallery. A Kitchener native. Mrs. Scaub says her favorite art form is portraiture. "Basically, I'm not a landscape painter because I don't like working out- doors . . .Mostly I like work- ing with people. But it's very hard to find people who have the time to sit for you. I'd really like to spend all my time doing people." she said. The next few months will be busy ones for Mrs. Schaub. Other future exhibitions in- clude a show at Waterdown Cenotaph ceremony for Battle of Britain Battle of Britain Week will be marked in Waterloo with a dedication cere- mony at the cenataph Thursday at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be preceded by a parade from King and William Streets to the cenotaph'. Battle of Britain Week has been declared from Sept. 12 to Sept. 19. The Battle of Britain was fought and won be- tween July 10 and Oct. 31, 1940.
