Waterloo‘s Tom Lobsinger won the 1500 metre event Saturday at the Provincial Indoor Junior Track and Field Championship Meet in the excellent time of 3 min. 51.8 seconds, setting a Canadian record for juvenâ€" ile men. Lobsinger wins meet won their division with a three garoe score of 3197 with games of 1021, 1069 and 1107. On the team are lhw 615, Laurie Heideman 601 and Paula y with 581. The girls team had anâ€" uphill climb from the word go and finished in fine tashion. After the first game they trailed by 150 pins and going into the last game they were 100 pins down but then pulled together and gave it their best, effort to win the championship. They were coached by Dan Thomas another bowler that came up through the Y.B.C. getting his start in Sarnia and then moved to Waterioo to go to Univer; sity and continues to bowl in the Y.B.C. program. Finishing in second place was Olympia Bow!l from Cornwall with 3105 â€"winning the silver medal and Motor City Bowl from Oshawa were third with 3096 winning the bronze medal. The other winner from this area was Kevin Thomâ€" as from Victoria Bowlerama. Kevin won the Senior Boys Singles with a fine triple of 938. Kevin got off to aâ€"great start with games of 350 and 340 and never looked back rolling 248 his last game. Keâ€" vin‘s win was not a walkâ€"away as he was continuâ€" ally pushed by Bryan Tuck of Stouffville who bowlâ€" ed 909.
