Each volunteer calls upon the recipient to find out what kind of books they're in. terested in, such as his- torical, travel, fiction or ttoat-fiction. Then they ac- tually select the books and call every two or three weeks to pick-up the books andtringnenrer. “It’s more than just de- livering a book for the person," explains James Brown, chief librarian of Waterloo library. “Most people spend time talking to them and it turns into a social visit." Atthepresent time,hooks are being delivered to homes for senior citizens such as Pinehaven and Parkwood Manor and to a few individuals. "We're trying to actually zero in on people not in places like this, not where they're grouped," says Mr. Brown.
