Last Wednesday WCI's Basketball Vikings played their first exhibition game of the season against South- wood of Galt. The team played extremely well and beat their opponents 67-60. Then on Thursday night the Junior Varsity team from Wilfrid Laurier Uni- versity visited our gyms. The student coun- cil. decided that the prizes will be given in the form of gift certificates. from either Eaton‘s or Simpsons. lst prize will be a $100 gift On Thursday Nov. 13, Laurel had Dave Ruther- ford, a representative of Hershey Chocolates dis- cuss the selling of choco- late bars. He also told the students what the prizes would be and what the money would be used for. The tum-out this year was excellent. The program consisted of various guest speakers. Valedictorian "Jane Snyder and the pres- entation of the graduation diplomas. The ceremonies went very well and was one of the best ceremonies many had attended. Last Friday was the first time that Bluevale has tried a Sadie Hawkins Dance. It was held at the end of "Women's Week". Laurel selling bars On Monday and Tuesday of last week, Laurel had two evaluation days. These days are given to help the teachers determine stu- dents marks for their re- port cards. On Friday of last week Laurel took their report cards home. Laurel is hoping to sell 7,200 chocolate bars and right now it seems that our goal just might be reached! certificate, 2nd prize will be a $50 gift certificate and 3rd. 4th, and 5th prizes will be $10 gift certifi- cates. There will also be 7 lb. Hershey bars given out! Upcoming events to be held at B.C.I. are as fol- lows: Grad Photos - Dec. 3, and 4. Culture Days - Dec. 3, 4, and 5; and "Fies- ta de Navidad" on Dec. 5. Exams start this Friday and very little is planned this week to provide time for studying. On Nov. 29 after exams are over, there will be a concert with "Lighthouse" ' at 8:30 pan. Cost is $3 in advance and $3.75 at the door. Fee cards areamust. under the theme of "Sadie goes Lib".
