Before the adult centre was opened, Mrs. Schumm conducted classes in the old library building on Albert Street and also at the senior citizens drop-in cen- tre behind the Dominion Life Building on Westmount Students who work on their projects at home through the week can use the kiln in the centre‘s basement during class hours. But work done in class is taken home with Mrs. Schumm and fired in her basement kiln. "China painting is dif- ferent than oil painting in that brush strokes are used," she explains.
