Prior to the request Mr. Bauman outlined some of the programs that the or- ganization is involved in. He said there are about 40 families in the KW area that receive assistance from the organization as well as a drop-in-centre for theyouthinthe area. He said that the organi- zation provided 11,000 meals and 6.000 beds during 1974 and opened a new recovery home for alcoholics at 174 King St. North in Waterloo. When a month has five Mon- days in it then the fifth meet- ing is usually cancelled. Council decided to defer any decision pending talks between Mr. Willis and the ministry's district engineer. Council hopes to submit a recommendation to the ministry calling for the Speed change to extend to thecity limits. Highway 85 is a provin- cial highway and comes under the jurisdiction of the ministry. The ministry made the speed change re- quest to council. Council will now pass a resolution endorsing the change and including its request for the extended speed limit to the city limits l0 Cents
