A rash of penalties folâ€" lowed, including a game misconduct to coach Rick Logel. The Rangers, in the confusion of penalties, manâ€" aged to play the final minâ€" ute with six men on the ice while Good was serving his major. The teams split 14 penalâ€" ties evenly. â€" The Canadiens looked as if they would defeat Buffaâ€" lo and tie with the Bruins for fourth but Jeff Gastâ€" meier scored with only seâ€" conds remaining to force a 2â€"2 draw. Doug Snyder scored Bufâ€" falo‘s first goal and Gastâ€" meier tied it when Buffalo pulled their goalie in faâ€" vor of an extra attacker. John Putschli and John Pelger put the hardâ€"skatâ€" ing Canadiens in front 2â€"0. Halfway through the third period they seemed to run out of gas.
