C:â€"fas By DENNIS BRAITHW AITE (Guest Columnist ) You won‘t find my name in Who‘s Who, but as a reâ€" sult of almost making it I am in a position to tell the world what‘s what with Who‘s Who. Months â€" ago, Marquis Who‘s Who Inc., publishers of Who‘s Who in America, Who Was Who (volumes 1 to 4), Who‘s Who in the South and Southwest, Who‘s Who in the West, etc., wrote from Chicago inviting me to be in the 13th edition of Who‘s Who in the East. Now, I am as vain as the next man and like all men feel I have never received full and just recognition for my accomplishments. With a minimum of blushing and footâ€"scuffing. therefore, I filled out the biographical questionnaire and banged it back to the Marquis peoâ€" ple (if memory serves, in tneir selfâ€"addressed envelâ€" After a time they sent me a galley proof of my entry, asking for necessary correcâ€" tions. There were a few erâ€" rors, the funniest being a line that had me employed C.W. Tweed & Son Put your insurance in safe, experienced hands. I guess Marquis never before had a celebrity who got started as a canâ€"washer in a dairy and therefore asâ€" sumed it was really a newsâ€" me know that if I acted promptly I could order my After returning the corâ€" rected proof, I waited more or less patiently for Who‘s Who in the East to show up in The Toronto Telegram library, where I figured I could quietly look up my entry from time to time whenever my ego needed stroking. But instead I received from Marquis another comâ€" munication, a rather gaudy salespitch, in fact, letting Question: I have been told that 1, as the groom, am expectâ€" ed to furnish the liquor served at our wedding reception. Is this true? Answer: No, you are not expected to. You can, however, do so if you wish to assist with what is usually a major expendiâ€" ture. Question: I have been told that it was improper of me to wear false eyelashes and lipstick at my mother‘s funeral. Was it? Answer: If people who spend their time criticizing and gossiping would put that time to use helping other people, this world would be a greatlyâ€"improved place. Question: Is it really a social ‘"must‘‘ for all men in a dinâ€" ner party to stand until all the women have been seated? Answer: Not at all. As a matter of fact, it usually looks quite silly. Although I don‘t know why anyone would want to wear false eyelashes under any circumstances, I would advise you to ignore people who have nothing better to do with their time than criticize you for doing something that did absoluteâ€" ly no harm and is of no concern whatsoever to anyone else. Question: Is it proper for a guest who is dining in a friend‘s home to stack his used dishes as he is finished using them? Answer: There is nothing wrong with this. This time Marquis had cut their price down to a rockâ€"bottom $37.95. I must confess I toyed with the idea of subâ€" scribing â€" for the children‘s sake, of course; but in the end principle triumphed. Out went that offer, too. Well, as I said, I‘m vain; but I am also extremely with me. So I threw out their comeâ€"on offer and tried to put immortality out of my mind. 578â€"8460 and By this time I was curiâ€" ous to know whether Marâ€" quis would use my bio graphy if I didn‘t buy the The other day 1 got my answer. Pierre Elliott Trudeau is in, but only with four lines from the public record. Obâ€" viously he didn‘t coâ€"operate, and didn‘t pay.
