Women from the church assist- ed by volunteers from the Red Cross, nursing homes and other service agencies hosted the event, which featured a choir, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, and a visit from Santa Claus. The dinner coincided with Sen- iors in Action Week, a community services board-sponsored series of activities aimed at informing residents of programs available to the city's older residents and getting greater participation by the older folk in these events. The week was timed to fit in with annual events of this nature such as the Parkminster dinner and the Canadian Progress Club. sponsored tour of the city for older folk to view the Christmas lights.
