The second game was a real thriller between Detroit and the Hawks, ending 4 â€" 4. The only adâ€" verse aspect of this game was a Donnybrook after the final buzzer. The line of Larry Harmon, Bruce Timbeck and Brian Nowak played very sound hockey with a combination of five goals. Another week of house league hockey has been played, with high enthusiasm. The results show close competition, with one exception. The first game saw Boston humâ€" iliate St. Louis 10 â€" 4. This game was spotty, with Paul Frieburger called on in the St. Louis net to make many very nice plays. The loss is accounted for â€" very bad defence lapses and too many inâ€" dividual plays. The winning factor was the outstanding _ performance _ of Randy Musselman with four goals ; the most goals by one player in one game. We appreciate the coâ€"operation from those concerned, when called on to fill in for extra games. Three Waterloo women have had their purses stolen this week while shopping. One shopper lost $130 and anâ€" other $81 to the thieves. The third game between Maple Leafs and Buffalo was also very competitive with the Leafs winâ€" ning 4â€"3. This was the first win for Bob Watson‘s team this year and it was bound to happen. So far in five weeks their worst defeat was 4 â€" 0, losing games that could easily have been victories for them. The line of Pat Bauer, Dick Bauer and John Reesor played very strongly for the winning team with honorable mention to both goal keepers Brian Steffler for the Maple Leafs and Paul Germann for Buffalo. In one case the woman was disâ€" tracted by a young couple and later discovered her purse misâ€" sing from her shopping cart. The suspension for fighting is, the balance of the game being played plus the next game. All penalties, especially the more serâ€" ious ones called, are subject to be altered by the convenor and/ofr the rules committee, depending on the severity of each individual incident. As I mentioned last week, minor hockey is trying to develop young men of respect and stature and this cannot be achieved by allowâ€" ing disrespect and rough house hockey. goals and Don McKenzie of the Hawks with two goals. Tom Waurâ€" echen in the Detroit net was called upon to make some outâ€" standing saves as the Hawks apâ€" plied relentless pressure to beat Detroit. The altercation after the final buzzer was handled very well by the officials Dave Oberholzer and Brian Ringle. They assessed four major penalties (two to each team) which again calls for an automatic suspension for the folâ€" lowing game. Because of the resâ€" istence of one boy on the Hawks team with the official, he is susâ€" pended for an additional game. I would like to clarify this susâ€" pension rule for those people in doubt. Minor hockey executive aâ€" dopted this mainly to discourage fighting.
