A whopping $90 was raised at a penny carnival at Cedarbrae school last week by youngsters attending a summer playground program in that area. Carnival highlights included a horror house, kissing booth, sponge throw, fish pond, bake sale and cake raffle, fortune tell- ing and a boutique. About 200 children are taking part in the Cedarbrae playground program, which is directed by Caroline Percival. Other leaders are Lynn Brown and Linda and Paula Henshaw. Children at other playground centres held their penny carni- vals earlier in the summer. Pro- ceeds from all of them are being pooled to finance the London trip for the younger fry and the Hamil- ton outing for the older children. Everyone caught something at the fish pond and there was music to fish by, too. A pretty boutique operator is bound to attract a brisk business. Youngsters gathered around to see and ask questions when one of their friends put on a puppet Show; Tempo's season to open with Luv Auditions began at Tempo Thea- tre's studio on 9 Princess St, E., last night, for the group's first play of the 19N-71 season.
