By SISISO ® Drama was the feature of last week‘s â€" celebration â€" of â€" Young Canada Book Week by the stuâ€" dents of Centennial public school, Amos Avenue. & 4 Three plays and a puppet show brought to life some wellâ€"known storyâ€"book characters. The message they carriedâ€"find and know me in a book! Wednesday afternoon a play, flliver Twist Asks for More, was put on by Grades 814 and 82. All of Grade 81 was involved in drama and Grade 8â€"2 in the music. The play was directed by Mrs. Karen Enns, Grade 8 teacher and wusic teacher. Karla Babin was the narrator. The role of Oliver was played by Mary Cann, the Artful Dodger by John McColl. The villian Fagin was interpretâ€" ed by Francis Agranove. Ian Shantz played Mr. Bumble and Bon Gordon, Mr. Limbkin. Sharon â€" Johnson â€" was â€" Judge Fang, Susan Klopp and Rosemary Montoya were the magistrates, Bill Spink played Mr. Brownlow and the cook was Andrea Heimâ€" rich. The plays were organized and ecâ€"ordinated by the librarian Mrs. Jean Scott, to make pupils eithusiastic about the very fine library they have at the school. Anne Comes to Green Gabies, the play put on by Grade 7â€"2, d&iiday afternoon, was directed bv Mrs. Jan MacDonald, Grade 7 teacher. It was narrated by Traâ€" tov _ Johnston.
