In his announcgment, Mr. Da. vis said: Only two Ontario municipali- ties have been omitted from the plan. They are the City of To. ronto and Forest Hill Village. At the present time there is a complex group of post-second- try institutions in this area in- eluding the Ryerson Polytechnic- al Institute, the Provincial In- stitute of Trades, the Provincial Institute of Trades and Occupa- tions, among others. This area is receiving further study and will be the subject of a special Order-In-Council in the near fu. ture. The Order-in-Council estab- Ilahea " are“ for the planning and development of such a col- lege, and Waterloo is located within area 14, which will serve " municipalities including cities M towns, within the counties at Waterloo, Huron, Perth and Wellington. The exact location for the college is still to be decided upon. After study of the complicated problem of locating future col- leges across the Province, the Council of Regents adopted the ten regional development areas of Ontario as a basic structure ipon which to plan. There were several reasons for doing this. The projections of school en- riolments and population statis tics indicated that at least one college would be needed for each of the ten areas. Also, the Coun- cil recognized that there should be a close relationship between any college program and the long term economic development plans for a particular region. The Council believes that a Col. in thtter-rrrceuneii, announced h the Hon. William Davis, Min. Mer of Education, indicates that this area will have a college od Applied Arts and Technology Iélhin the next 5-10 years. BOT. . WE DO HANDLE SUITS WE AREN'T cleaning can provide. The plan suggested and now adopt- ed provides for " orderly well- planned growth which can be phased and developed over the next five to ten years. It also provides a base for the gradual integration of existing post-sec- ondary institutions into the col- lege plan.
