Weanélday, Rovember 11, 1906 Ladies and gentlemen, voters of the City of Waterloo, l humbly appeal to you for your supâ€" port for a seat on our city council. Having been keeping in touch with what has been going on in our council, by getting reports of all the meetâ€" ings of council there are many things the elecâ€" tors never find out. Items involving thousands of dollars of which ninety percent of you folks know nothing. These ought to be brought to your attention. I have had four years experience on our counâ€" cil, and five years with the provincial governâ€" ment. You can chalk up an assist, too, for starting new farm tractors working in the fields and moving earthâ€"shaking construction equipâ€" ment into new building projects... for arteâ€" rial highways steadily advancing towards completion ... for bridges moving out across rivers...for new business enterprises of all kinds getting under way. The ignitions of brandâ€"new family cars, for instance, and neighbours‘ lawnmowers. You helped start lots of both this year if you saved money at the Bank of Montreal. My sympathies are with the common folks and 1 will see that their wishes are fairly dealt with. 1 promise never to stand in the way of progress, and hope to see a continuance of growth of our city. I will advocate that the older portions of the city be given more consideration. If you want yolur taxes lowered.
