However the person who really caught my eye, had not a word to speak in the entire play. She was Pat Eby, the dancer to whom choreographer Gillies seems to have given his best steps. Small and pretty, Miss Eby has that certain quality which makes an audâ€" ience watch her every movement whenever she is onâ€" stage. Among the leads, I found the girls were especially strong, particularly Pam Fernie, as the night club singâ€" er and dancer, Linda Low. Barbara Wolfond, as Helen Choa, brought a wonderful plaintive voice to the role of the lovesick seamstress, and Shirley Strauss sang the part of Mei Li very well, although I found her not quite shy enough as the picture bride.
