The turn out for ‘Pal Day‘ was very satisfactory. Each of the three classes enjoyed a very satisfying period of games. Next week we return to our regular class programme. This Saturday is ‘Swim Day‘. The fellows will meet at MacGregor School at 2:00 pm. From there they will proceed to the downtown °Y‘ building for instruction and free swim sessions. We hope to see all the pals from ‘Pal Day‘ out for gym class in the morning and swim in the afternoon. Junior Hiâ€"Â¥ also fits into this picture. The club members are responsible for their own programme and projects. They must make their own arrangements for any special events. Their mentor, Jack Alexander, is on hand as a consultant for such operations. Each fellow is responsible for his own beâ€" haviour in and out of Boys‘ Town. by Larry Hamel To assist with the development of personal integrity and independence is one of our purposes at Waterloo Boys‘ Town. Each member usually travels to Boys‘ Town on his own. Some walk, some ride bicycles, others come on roller skates and wagons. In some cases this may be the boy‘s first taste of inâ€" dependence. Every fellow is required to bring running shoes, shorts, and a Tâ€"shirt. He is responsible for the care and cleanâ€" liness of these articles. In some cases it is not possible for a youngster to bring all or part of his gym uniform. This does not prevent him from attending classes. It is our policy to help the youngsters obtain proper gym clothes. Various members of the three classes have individual responsibilities such as: keeper of the balls, coat monitors, and storage monitors. In the craft classes the individual may choose his own project. If he needs help our crafts instructor, Gary Parker, is on hand to provide it. Monitors are needed in this area to help maintain order and cleanliness. At the present time the fellows are producing such articles as wallets, change purses, comb cases, pencil cases and watch bands. weekâ€"end the smelts were just starting to run, so it would seem that if the weather conâ€" tinues to warm up, this weekâ€" end the smelts should be realâ€" ly running, or should we say, really swimming.
